Passing Score for the Physical Therapists Licensure Examination (PTLE)

A general rating of at least 75% in the written examination with no rating below 60%. A first-time taker who fails but scores at least 75% in each of at least five subjects may take a second examination within one year covering only the failed subjects, and must score at least 75% in each. That conditional rule was written for a longer subject list; PRC’s current program has only three papers. Source: RA 5680, Sec. 17.

What the exam covers

Three papers over two days on PRC’s June 2026 program: Physical Therapy Basic Sciences and Medical-Surgical Conditions on day one, PT Application on day two. The 2026 program prints no weights; the June 2024 program, under the older subject names, weighted them 30% (Basic Sciences), 25% (Medical and Surgical Conditions, Pathology) and 45% (PT Applications, Electrotherapy, Therapeutic Exercises, Principles of Rehabilitation and Hydrotherapy). RA 5680, Sec. 16 leaves the scope of the examination to the Board. Source: PRC — June 2026 PTLE Program of Examination.

Requirements to Take the Physical Therapist Board Exam

Under RA 5680 (Philippine Physical and Occupational Therapy Law of 1969, as modified by RA 11241 (2018), which moved occupational therapy to its own board), an applicant for the Physical Therapists Licensure Examination (PTLE) must:

  • be a Filipino citizen, or a foreigner whose country lets Filipino physical therapists practise on the same basis as its own citizens
  • be at least 21 years old
  • be in good health and of good moral character
  • have finished a standard academic high school course or its equivalent
  • hold a degree in physical therapy from a government-recognized school of physical therapy
  • have completed at least nine months of internship in the physical therapy department of a hospital or clinic, as certified by the Department of Health — PRC asks for a nine-month internship certificate signed by the dean and registrar

Physical Therapist Board Exam Results 2026: When and Where They Come Out

PRC's target release dates are June 5, 2026 for the Jun 2–3, 2026 exam and December 9, 2026 for the Dec 5–6, 2026 exam. The Jun 2–3, 2026 results were released on June 8, 2026. Targets are printed in the resolution — the actual release can land a few days either side and is announced only by PRC. AyTool does not host exam results or lists of passers; passing rates for every 2026 release are compared on the PRC Board Exam Results 2026 page.

  1. prc.gov.ph — the official list of passers and the top 10, posted as a news release on prc.gov.ph and on PRC's official Facebook page.
  2. Verification of Rating — your own scores per subject, through LERIS at online.prc.gov.ph once PRC opens the service for that exam.
  3. News sites and review centers republish the list within hours; treat anything not on prc.gov.ph as unofficial.

Retakes

There is no cap on attempts, but a candidate who fails the conditional second examination must retake all subjects within one year, and anyone who fails a third time must complete a prescribed course of study before being admitted to a fourth examination. PRC asks repeaters with three failures for a certificate of completion of a refresher course. Source: RA 5680, Sec. 17.

Physical Therapist Board Exam 2027 Schedule: When PRC Publishes It

PRC has not yet released the 2027 schedule. It publishes the whole following-year calendar in one resolution, usually signed in late October and posted on prc.gov.ph in mid-November — the 2026 schedule (Resolution No. 2113, s. 2025) was signed on October 23, 2025 and posted on November 17, 2025 — so the physical therapist board exam 2027 dates are most likely out in November 2026. Each profession usually keeps the same months from one calendar to the next, so the 2026 rounds above are the working reference until then. This page switches to the official 2027 dates the day PRC publishes them.
