Passing Score for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET / BLEPT)

RA 7836 itself sets no passing grade. The rule comes from Board for Professional Teachers Resolution No. 228, s. 1996: a general average of at least 75%, with no rating below 50% in any subject. Under RA 9293 an examinee who fails but lands within five points of the passing average (70% to 74.99%) may be issued a two-year para-teacher permit. What the exam covers

RA 7836, Sec. 14 separates the levels. Elementary has two parts — General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%); Secondary has three — General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Field of Specialization (40%). Since September 2025 an Elementary examinee may also take a specialization in Early Childhood Education or Special Needs Education (BPT Resolution No. 20, s. 2025), weighted like the Secondary exam. PRC now labels the exam LEPT; LET, BLEPT and LEPT are the same examination. Source: PRC — September 2026 LEPT Program of Examination.

Requirements to Take the LET

Under RA 7836 (Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994, as amended by RA 9293), an applicant for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET / BLEPT) must:

  • be a Filipino citizen, or a foreign citizen whose country grants Filipino teachers the same right (reciprocity)
  • be at least 18 years old
  • be in good health and of good reputation with high moral values
  • have no conviction by final judgment for an offense involving moral turpitude
  • hold the degree for the level: BECED for preschool, BSEED for elementary, and for secondary a bachelor’s degree in education with a major and minor — or a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences with at least 18 units of professional education (RA 9293)

PRC lists the exact documents for each round inside LERIS — typically the transcript of records with the remark “For Board Examination Purposes”, a PSA birth certificate, a PSA marriage certificate when filing under a married name, and the examination fee.

How to Apply for the LET (LERIS)

  3. Upload your documents and ID photo, then pay the examination fee through the available payment channels.

LET Results 2026: When and Where They Come Out

PRC's target release dates are May 15, 2026 for the Mar 15, 2026 (Sun) exam and November 27, 2026 for the Sep 20, 2026 (Sun) exam. The Mar 15, 2026 (Sun) results were released on May 12, 2026. Targets are printed in the resolution — the actual release can land a few days either side and is announced only by PRC. AyTool does not host exam results or lists of passers; passing rates for every 2026 release are compared on the PRC Board Exam Results 2026 page.

  1. prc.gov.ph — the official list of passers and the top 10, posted as a news release on prc.gov.ph and on PRC's official Facebook page.
  2. Verification of Rating — your own scores per subject, through LERIS at online.prc.gov.ph once PRC opens the service for that exam.
  3. News sites and review centers republish the list within hours; treat anything not on prc.gov.ph as unofficial.

Retakes

The law sets no limit on retaking the LET. The refresher-course rule in RA 7836, Sec. 20 applies to the periodic merit examination for already-licensed teachers, not to the licensure exam. An examinee who fails within five points of the passing average may teach as a para-teacher under a two-year special permit, renewable once (RA 9293, Sec. 2). LET 2027 Schedule: When PRC Publishes It

PRC has not yet released the 2027 schedule. It publishes the whole following-year calendar in one resolution, usually signed in late October and posted on prc.gov.ph in mid-November — the 2026 schedule (Resolution No. 2113, s. 2025) was signed on October 23, 2025 and posted on November 17, 2025 — so the LET 2027 dates are most likely out in November 2026. Each profession usually keeps the same months from one calendar to the next, so the 2026 rounds above are the working reference until then. This page switches to the official 2027 dates the day PRC publishes them.
