Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha 2027

Proclamation No. 1427, s. 2026 declares Eid'l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) and Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) as regular holidays but leaves the exact dates to a separate proclamation, issued once the Islamic calendar date is determined. In 2026, Eid'l Fitr fell on March 20 and Eid'l Adha fell on May 27; Islamic holidays move about 11 days earlier each year, so expect the 2027 dates roughly a week and a half before those. They are added here the day the proclamations are signed.

2027 Holidays That Fall on a Weekend

The Philippines observes a holiday on its actual date — nothing moves to the following Monday. 6 of the 2027 holidays land on a Saturday or Sunday:

  • February 6, 2027 (Saturday) — Chinese New Year (Special (Non-Working) Day)
  • March 27, 2027 (Saturday) — Black Saturday (Special (Non-Working) Day)
  • May 1, 2027 (Saturday) — Labor Day (Regular Holiday)
  • June 12, 2027 (Saturday) — Independence Day (Regular Holiday)
  • August 21, 2027 (Saturday) — Ninoy Aquino Day (Special (Non-Working) Day)
  • December 25, 2027 (Saturday) — Christmas Day (Regular Holiday)

If the day is your rest day: an unworked regular holiday is still paid at 100% (subject to the attendance rule for the preceding workday) and a worked one at 260%; a special non-working day is unpaid if unworked and 150% if worked. Run the numbers in the Holiday Pay Calculator.

What Changed From 2026

Proclamation No. 1427 keeps the same set of holidays as 2026: 10 regular holidays, 8 special non-working days, and EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary again a special working day. No holiday was added, dropped or reclassified — only the movable dates shift:

  • Chinese New Year: February 17, 2026 → February 6, 2027
  • Maundy Thursday: April 2, 2026 → March 25, 2027
  • Good Friday: April 3, 2026 → March 26, 2027
  • Black Saturday: April 4, 2026 → March 27, 2027
  • National Heroes Day: August 31, 2026 → August 30, 2027
