Any salary between the floor and ceiling follows the same 5% formula — the calculator above gives the exact figure for your salary. Direct contributors (self-earning, OFW) pay the "Total Premium" column in full.

Income Floor and Ceiling

The premium is never computed on less than ₱10,000 or more than ₱100,000 of monthly income. Earning ₱7,000? Your premium base is still ₱10,000 (premium ₱500). Earning ₱150,000? Your base is capped at ₱100,000 (premium ₱5,000). "Monthly basic salary" excludes commissions, overtime, allowances, 13th month pay and bonuses.

Employee and Employer Sharing

For employed members — private and government, including sea-based OFWs — the premium is split equally: 2.5% deducted from your payroll, 2.5% added by your employer. Your payslip deduction should be exactly half of the total premium.

Self-Paying and Direct Contributors

Self-earning individuals, professional practitioners and land-based OFWs pay the premium "wholly and individually" — the full 5%. PhilHealth allows monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual payment. Pay only through the official PhilHealth website and its accredited collecting partners.

Example Computations

Example 1 — Employee at ₱18,500: premium = 5% × ₱18,500 = ₱925. You pay ₱462.50, your employer pays ₱462.50.

Example 2 — Freelancer declaring ₱35,000: premium = 5% × ₱35,000 = ₱1,750, paid in full by you (can be paid ₱5,250 per quarter).

Example 3 — Employee at ₱120,000: base capped at ₱100,000 → premium ₱5,000. You pay ₱2,500, your employer pays ₱2,500.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the PhilHealth contribution in 2026?

The PhilHealth premium in 2026 is 5% of your monthly basic salary, with an income floor of ₱10,000 and a ceiling of ₱100,000. The minimum premium is ₱500 per month and the maximum is ₱5,000. Employed members split it 50/50 with their employer; direct contributors pay the full amount.

How do I compute my PhilHealth contribution?

Multiply your monthly basic salary by 5%, after applying the floor and ceiling. Example: ₱25,000 salary × 5% = ₱1,250 total premium; an employed member pays half (₱625) and the employer pays the other half. A salary of ₱8,000 uses the ₱10,000 floor, so the premium is ₱500.

Did PhilHealth increase the contribution rate for 2026?

No. The 5% rate with a ₱100,000 ceiling is the final tier scheduled under the Universal Health Care Act (RA 11223) and has applied since 2025. PhilHealth confirmed the same 5% schedule for 2026.

How do self-employed members pay PhilHealth?

Self-earning members are direct contributors: they pay the full 5% of their declared monthly income themselves (floor ₱10,000 / ceiling ₱100,000). Payment can be made monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually through official PhilHealth channels.

Who pays the PhilHealth premium of a kasambahay?

If a kasambahay (domestic worker) earns less than ₱5,000 per month, the household employer shoulders the entire premium under the Kasambahay Law (RA 10361). At ₱5,000 or more, the kasambahay pays their proportionate share.
