Final Pay / Back Pay Calculator Philippines
Your final pay (back pay) is the sum of everything your employer still owes you at separation — unpaid salary, unused leave converted to cash, pro-rated 13th month pay, plus separation or retirement pay where applicable, minus outstanding deductions. Under DOLE Labor Advisory No. 06-20 it must be released within 30 days from your separation date. Fill in only the items that apply to you.

Pro-rated 13th month pay
Enter the basic salary you earned each month of this calendar year up to your last day (blank = not worked).
What Goes Into Final Pay
- Unpaid earned salary — days worked in your last cut-off that haven't been paid.
- Unused Service Incentive Leave (SIL) — the 5-day statutory leave is convertible to cash if unused; company vacation leave follows company policy.
- Pro-rated 13th month pay — total basic salary earned this calendar year ÷ 12 (auto-computed above, or see the 13th Month Pay Calculator).
- Separation pay — only for authorized-cause separations (retrenchment, redundancy, closure, disease) or when granted by policy/CBA.
- Retirement pay — if you qualify under RA 7641 or a company plan.
- Tax refund — if your withheld tax exceeds your annualized tax due for the year.
- Deposits and bonds — cash bonds or deposits that must be returned.
- Less: deductions — unpaid loans (company, SSS, Pag-IBIG salary loans routed through payroll) and documented accountabilities.
Not Everyone Gets Every Item
Resigning employees typically receive unpaid salary, leave conversion and pro-rated 13th month pay — but not separation pay. Retrenched employees add separation pay. Retirees add retirement pay. The calculator treats every line as optional for exactly this reason.
Example Computations
Example 1 — Resigned September 30, ₱20,000/month: unpaid salary ₱10,000 + unused SIL ₱4,545 + pro-rated 13th month (₱180,000 ÷ 12) ₱15,000 = ₱29,545 before deductions.
Example 2 — Retrenched after 4 years, ₱18,000/month (June 30 separation): separation pay for retrenchment = ½ month pay per year of service (minimum 1 month) = ₱9,000 × 4 = ₱36,000. Add pro-rated 13th month (₱108,000 ÷ 12) ₱9,000 and unpaid salary ₱9,000 = ₱54,000.
Example 3 — With deductions: additions total ₱23,833.33 but an unpaid company loan of ₱1,500 is outstanding → final pay = ₱22,333.33.
Who This Applies To
Any private-sector employee whose employment ended — resignation, end of contract, retrenchment, redundancy, dismissal, or retirement. The composition varies by cause of separation; the 30-day release rule applies to all. This result is an estimate: the exact figure depends on your employer's payroll records and clearance process, and disputes can be raised with DOLE.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is final pay (back pay) in the Philippines?
Final pay — also called back pay or last pay — is the sum of all wages and monetary benefits still owed to you when your employment ends, whatever the cause of separation. DOLE Labor Advisory No. 06-20 treats final pay, last pay and back pay as the same concept.
When should final pay be released?
Within 30 days from your date of separation, per DOLE Labor Advisory No. 06-20, unless a more favorable company policy, individual agreement, or CBA applies. Your Certificate of Employment must be issued within 3 days of your request.
What is usually included in final pay?
Typical components: unpaid earned salary; the cash value of unused Service Incentive Leave (and other convertible leave); pro-rated 13th month pay; separation pay if the separation cause requires it; retirement pay if qualified; tax refund if over-withheld; and return of deposits or cash bonds. Deductions for loans and accountabilities may be subtracted.
How is pro-rated 13th month pay in final pay computed?
Total basic salary you earned during the calendar year up to your last day, divided by 12. Example: resigned June 30 after earning ₱20,000 monthly → ₱120,000 ÷ 12 = ₱10,000 pro-rated 13th month pay.
Do I get separation pay if I resign?
Generally no — voluntary resignation does not entitle you to separation pay unless your company policy, contract, or CBA grants it. Separation pay is required for authorized causes such as retrenchment, redundancy, closure not due to serious losses, or disease (½ to 1 month pay per year of service depending on the cause).
